So instead of going for the expensive option and buying the actual beach wood decks for the constitution I decided to use a technique that has worked for me in the past. Using a dark brown to highlight the grain in the plastic I then brushed it back which left the darker wash in the grain. Hoy sigo con el intemperizado de la propela del submarino enano soviético Triton 1-M. Una vez, platicando con un buen amigo quien es un gran modelista naval, me comentaba que las propelas en realidad debían ir oxidadas en verde bronce, como las estatuas. Y para salir de la duda, estuve platicando con otros colegas hasta topar con un amigo en los Yunaited que tiene yates y me proporcionó la información que les comparto. La propela, nueva, luce brillante y de color casi dorado: pero luego de un rato en el agua, adquiere primero una pátina café oscura que luego de un rato se torna verde, encima de la cual se forman grumos de “sarro” del mismo color sólo que más claro. Pero, y éste es un dato importante, a los vehículos navales pequeños por lo general se les limpia la propela cada que reciben mantenimiento. Así que, para mi proyecto actual, de un vehículo todavía en uso constante y buen mantenimiento, me pareció conveniente apostar por un término medio.
